Photovoltaic Plant in Lintgen
In our first project, we realised a photovoltaic system together with the commune of Lintgen. For this purpose, the commune kindly provided us with the roof of the primary school. Since January 2021, on an area of 897 m², 536 solar modules with a total output of 177 kWp are producing the annual energy consumption of around 129 inhabitants. You can find more information on the project page.
Photovoltaic Plant in Helmsange MR & SPO
In December 2021, our second PV-plant started its production. In fact, there are two separate systems on the roofs of the after-school care building and the sports hall of the primary school in Helmsange. On 598 m2 a total of 122 kWp is installed and produces around 122.400 kWh/year. Many thanks to the municipality of Walferdange, which made the project possible and supported it. You can find more technical details on the project-page.
Photovoltaic Plants in Steinsel and Heisdorf
In 2023 we inaugurated two new PV-plants. In cooperation with the Commune de Steinsel we installed new plants on the school buildings in Steinsel and Heisdorf. For the plants on the Willy-Goergen school in Steinsel and the C1 School building in Heisdorf we focus on own consumption. This means that the generated electric power no longer is exclusively distributed through the grid, but rather that as much as possible is used locally and thus sold to the users of the buildings or their direct neighbours.
Photovoltaic Plant in Erpeldange (ala)
Together with the Association Luxembourg-Alzheimer (ala), EnerCoop Uelzechtdall has founded an energy community to construct and operate a photovoltaic system on 5 roof areas of the ala’s Goldknapp residential and care home. The system has a total installed capacity of 158 kWp. The estimated annual production of the first year is 170 MWh and is to be used directly by the ala for the most part. The photovoltaic system is expected to cover 18% of the annual electricity consumption of the building. EnerCoop Uelzechtdall will sell the locally consumed electricity to the ala at a fixed rate over a period of 15 years (approx. 80% of production), with the remainder being fed into the public grid.
Photovoltaic Plant Helmsange School
In 2025, we commissioned an additional photovoltaic system on the school campus in Helmsange. This new system expands the existing installations on the maison-relais and the sports hall and also makes use of the school’s roof. In total, 509 solar modules with an installed peak capacity of 229 kWp are now operating on the school.
The generated electricity is consumed directly on site – primarily on the Helmsange school campus, including the maison-relais and the sports hall. Surplus energy is supplied to the municipal building and the sports hall in Walferdange, as well as to the school, sports hall, maison-relais and nursery in Bereldange. The installation is also ready for the future power grid: its park controller allows power output to be curtailed when the grid load becomes too high.
